Job Description About the Role

The Concrete Finisher plays a critical role in the construction industry by ensuring that concrete surfaces are finished to the highest standards of quality and durability. This position involves preparing, pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete for a variety of construction projects including barrier walls, flat work items, roads, and foundations. The Concrete Finisher must work efficiently with a team to meet project deadlines while maintaining safety and compliance with industry regulations.

Attention to detail is essential to produce smooth, even surfaces that meet design specifications and withstand environmental conditions. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of construction projects across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar construction role.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and heavy equipment related to concrete finishing and excavation.
  • Physical capability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in concrete finishing or related construction trades.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction site regulations.
  • Previous experience operating small equipment, crew vehicles and construction tools.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and set forms for concrete pouring, ensuring proper alignment and stability.
  • Operate hand tools and heavy equipment to mix, pour, spread, and finish concrete surfaces.
  • Perform excavation and trenching tasks to prepare sites for concrete work and underground utilities.
  • Conduct demolition and removal of old concrete structures as needed for renovation or replacement projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to operate or guide dump trucks and other machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for defects and apply corrective measures to achieve smooth, level finishes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized worksite.
Skills

The required skills such as manual labor, hand tool operation, and concrete finishing are essential for preparing and completing concrete surfaces with precision and efficiency. Demolition and excavation skills enable the candidate to prepare sites properly and remove old structures safely. Operating and or/guiding dump trucks and heavy equipment is critical for transporting materials and managing large-scale construction tasks. Together, these skills allow the Concrete Finisher to contribute effectively to all phases of concrete construction, ensuring quality results and adherence to safety standards.

Work is performed in primarily outdoor environments with constant exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and temperature extremes.
