Position: Program Coordinator I

Position Overview

Join the University Student Housing team in providing support in one of our on-campus communities. Work as part of a student development team that provides support and services to on-campus students.

University Student Housing (USH) offers a unique, on-campus living experience for students and their families as they focus on their academic success. USH manages 18 active on-campus communities (Residence Halls and Apartments), which are the home of up to 6,500 residents. The departmental mission includes providing a learning environment that is student-centered, fosters belonging, and cultivates community. USH is committed to providing safe and reasonably priced living environments that are well-maintained and comfortable.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Manages the front desk environment to create a welcoming yet professional space that provides special services to residents and visitors.
  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the operation.
  • In partnership with the Community Director, co‑supervises 15‑25 student desk clerks inclusive of hiring paperwork and payroll tasks.
  • Coordinates the conduct process with the Community Director and maintains the in‑hall conduct systems administrative processes.
  • Manages the administration processes and occupancy of the residence hall.
  • Maintains a safe and secure environment for residents.
  • Responds to a wide breadth of inquiries with information on the department, MSU, policies, conduct information, calendared events, athletic game information, dining hall information, Bozeman, the surrounding area, and community resources, etc.
  • Actively participates as part of the team while performing other duties in support of the department’s mission.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Progressively responsible administrative experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience leading and/or training staff.
  • Proficient experience using computers and various software packages.
  • Customer service experience, dealing effectively and diplomatically with a variety of people, including handling difficult customer service situations.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Demonstrated skills managing through stressful situations.
  • Supervisory experience.

Physical Demands
  • Normal office environment.
  • Work for long periods of time at a computer or talking on the telephone.
  • Occasionally move, transport and place items up to 30 lbs of various shapes and sizes.
  • May occasionally work evenings, weekends, long hours, or consecutive days during busy periods as the school schedule demands.
