Job Overview
Design extraordinary custom homes where architecture, structure, and craft actually work together in the heart of the Mountain West. The role involves coordinating with builders and engineers to deliver $10–25 million fully custom homes. This position is based in Missoula, Montana.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and contribute to projects through Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents
- Develop and maintain high-quality Revit models and drawing sets
- Coordinate architectural intent with structural, civil, and MEP consultants
- Apply strong structural understanding to inform layout, spans, systems, and constructability
- Collaborate closely with builders to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and buildable
- Participate in client presentations and design discussions
- Maintain a high level of technical accuracy and attention to detail
- Registered Architects (RA / NCARB) with custom residential experience
- Senior Architectural Designers with deep technical capability and Revit mastery
- Designers who enjoy thinking through structure, not just aesthetics
- High-end residential firms
- Design-build environments
- Boutique architecture studios with complex custom work
- Advanced proficiency in Revit
- Experience delivering detailed construction document sets
- Strong understanding of structural systems and coordination
- Experience working on custom residential projects
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Registered Architect (RA) / NCARB
- Experience with luxury or high-end residential projects
- Comfort working directly with builders and clients
- Familiarity with Mountain West or similar regional construction
