Construction Trades Non-Tenure Track Faculty - Gallatin College
Position Overview:
Gallatin College seeks non-tenure track faculty for Construction Trades programs including HVAC‑R, General Construction, and Plumbing.
- Teach in specialty areas such as Carpentry fundamentals, Woodworking, Rough Framing, Site Prep, Blueprint Codes, etc.
- Understand industry standards and best practices as well as college rules and regulations.
- Communicate well with all types of learners at different levels of expertise.
- Recognize safety hazards and instruct students in proper use of tools and equipment.
- Maintain and inventory applicable equipment utilized in the classroom or lab; prepare reorder lists.
- Maintain an organized and clean learning environment.
- Provide and/or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.
- Three years of experience in related field.
- AAS or similar degree in related field.
- Ability to demonstrate construction trades technique(s) to students with varying skill levels.
- Demonstrated experience working with and engaging various groups of learners within and outside a department.
- Five or more years of experience in the field that topic of instruction relates to.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Industry standard professional certification(s).
- Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff enrichment.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Understanding of the two‑year college mission.
- Work professionally and effectively with individuals of all background.
- Possess effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and mission of Gallatin College, Montana State University.
The position may be a Union position. Faculty positions more than .5 FTE may be eligible for benefits under the MTYCFA, Montana State University, the Montana University System, or the AFMSU Non‑Tenure Track Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Physical DemandsNormal classroom environment. Must be able to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Program OverviewIn the Construction Trades program, students acquire skills for entry‑level occupations in construction or HVAC‑R. Supports courses for Plumbing and Electrical apprenticeship programs.
College InformationGallatin College MSU is Southwest Montana’s two‑year college, offering associate degrees and professional certificates. It complements four‑year programs at Montana State University and promotes workforce development for the local economy.
