WWAMI Non-Tenure Track Faculty - pooled position.
The WWAMI Medical Education Program provides education at MSU Bozeman for first and second-year medical students in partnership with the University of Washington School of Medicine. Teaching occurs in multiple blocks covering material ranging from physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, to pharmacology. Teaching formats include lectures, small groups, and case-based discussions.
Appointments are on a part-time basis for an academic year, with salary and FTE depending on the number of courses taught and duration. This position will provide longitudinal instruction and support in foundational sciences aligned with clinical topics and cases, with sustained engagement with a cohort of students throughout the pre-clinical phase.

- Teach in one or more of the WWAMI 1st and 2nd year curriculum blocks.
- Preparing for classes.
- Facilitating student learning during classes.
- Reviewing and discussing assignments.
- Following up on a regular basis with students as needed.
- Student remediation.
- Serving as a resource for medical students.
- Submitting evaluations to the school of mediation in a timely manner; participating in faculty meetings and committee work of the WWAMI curriculum, inter-professional education, and service-learning activities as assigned.
- MD/DO or PhD in one of the Biological Sciences relevant to the medical school curriculum.
- Documented interest in teaching.
- Instructional experience in a medical education curriculum.
- Expertise in the biological sciences related to the medical school curriculum (e.g., physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology).
- Excellence in teaching, ideally with experience in active learning and educational technology.
- Experience with collegiality and collaboration in an inter-professional environment.
- Skills or experience that contribute to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.
- Excellent organization, time management, and written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Be able to communicate complex scientific information to a wide range of audiences.
- Be able to work independently on a wide variety of tasks and in different roles.
- Maintain attention to detail, meet deadlines, and prioritize competing demands.
- Demonstrate commitment to health education and take initiative.
- Exercise good judgment and self-motivation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of records and information.

The position for which you have applied MAY BE a union position. Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit.
- Non-Tenure Track Faculty – Any position that is 0.5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU). Membership dues may apply. This is a condition of employment.
- Any position less than 0.5 FTE is not represented by the Union and is not required to pay dues.
- If the FTE changes during employment, representational status could be impacted.
- Exceptions:
Anyone who has completed a PEI exam or faculty working in Extension are exempt from the Union.
