Position: Analytics Instructors for the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)
Montana State University invites experienced analytics professionals to the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship faculty as Instructors, delivering high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek dedicated professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and can collaborate effectively with faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will contribute to student success and academic excellence while supporting the mission of Montana State University through engaging, real-world marketing education.

Instructional assignments are contingent upon departmental needs and the availability of funding.

Applications are accepted on a continual basis (unless otherwise indicated) and will be maintained in the pool for up to two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to resubmit their application materials for continued consideration.

Application materials will be reviewed by the appropriate search committee or hiring authority, and applicants will be notified if they are being considered for an open position.

Non-tenure-track appointments may be part-time or full-time and vary in duration depending on the specific needs of the department or program. Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and the duration of the appointment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate analytics courses in on-campus and/or online formats, ensuring high-quality, engaging instruction.
Incorporate real-world applications and experiential learning to enhance student understanding of data and business analytics concepts.
Stay current with industry trends, professional standards, and advancements in analytics education to maintain course relevance.
Foster a welcoming and supportive learning environment.

Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Master's degree in a computational field related to business analytics (e.g., M.S. in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering) from an accredited institution, OR a Master's degree from an accredited institution, plus a minimum of 5 years of significant analytics work experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in analytics, and demonstrated ability to bring current, real-world case studies into the classroom.
Proven track record of applying analytics in complex sectors such as supply chain, healthcare, finance, or marketing technology.
A strong ability to present technical insights to non-technical stakeholders
Strong technical knowledge of data analytics software and tools (e.g., spreadsheets, SQL, and visualization software).
Ph.D. in a computational area related to business analytics.

Special Requirements /Additional Information
The position for which you have applied MAY BE a Union position. Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit.

Non-Tenure Track Faculty - Any position that is .5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU). Faculty covered by AFMSU may choose to pay membership dues. This is a condition of employment. Additional information can be found at AFMSU or by emailing AFSMU.
Any position less than .5 FTE is not represented by the Union and is not required to pay dues.
If the FTE changes during employment, the representational status of this position could be impacted.
Exceptions:
Anyone having successfully completed a PEI exam or any faculty working in Extension are exempt from the Union.
