Overview

We maintain an applicant pool for non‑tenure‑track instructors in German. Instructors typically teach 1 to 5 language classes per semester. Positions are contingent on enrollment and funding. Qualified candidates will be contacted when a position opens.

Responsibilities
  • Teach 1 to 5 German language classes each semester.
  • Perform related academic duties as needed.
  • Instruction contingent upon departmental needs and funding.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a foreign university.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent from a foreign university in German or closely related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Proficiency level in German appropriate to the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in German or another relevant discipline.
  • Superior level proficiency in German.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
Contract Terms

Non‑Tenure‑Track, Contract, FTE 0.10 to 1.0. Salary commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications. Benefits eligible depending on FTE.

Union Information

Positions .5 FTE or more represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU);
any position < .5 FTE not represented by the Union and not required to pay dues. Changes to FTE may affect representational status.
