The MSSE Instructor position is a non‑tenure‑track faculty role for the Master of Science in Science Education (MSSE) program. Instructors teach graduate‑level science or education courses for K‑12 teachers of science, across fall, spring, or summer terms.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach online and/or campus field/lab science courses in Ecology, Biology, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Earth Science/Geology, Land Resources and Environmental Science, Microbiology, Physics, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Plant Science, and Education during fall and/or spring semesters and/or summer sessions.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctoral or master’s degree in science, science education, engineering, agriculture, or related fields.
  • University teaching experience and/or experience teaching K‑12 or coordinating curricula in public or private organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the Next Generation Science Standards and guidelines for science teacher education and distance learning.
  • Experience developing, delivering, and assessing graduate courses.
Desired Attributes
  • Ability to engage and educate graduate students effectively.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and establish effective relationships with graduate students.
  • Skill to develop, deliver, and assess innovative graduate‑level courses.
  • Proficiency in teaching through a distance delivery mode.
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary education.

Salary commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
