Overview
Marriott (MOR) seeks a creative and dedicated K-12 Coordinator to expand educational offerings for schools and families. The Coordinator will manage field trips, develop standards‑aligned curricula, and collaborate with the Director and volunteers to create innovative programs.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage K-12 field trips—booking experiences, communicating with teachers, and coordinating visit logistics.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop standards‑aligned, standards‑based curricula that are creative, object‑ and phenomenon‑based, and promote critical thinking.
- Collect and analyze evaluations and data on educational programs, maintain records, and use findings to improve offerings.
- Oversee and function as the director of existing summer camps.
- Establish new relationships with teachers, other museum education departments, and community partners.
- Staff volunteers on K-12 programs through collaboration with the Volunteer Manager.
- Lead educational programs as needed.
- Plan and execute educational events with the broader team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience working in an informal education setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in creating innovative, standard‑based curriculum and programming for diverse learning styles in an informal educational setting.
- Experience partnering and co‑teaching with volunteers, students, and other professionals on educational programming.
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, museum studies, museum education, or a similar field.
- Two or more years of experience in a museum environment as an educator and coordinator with field‑trip responsibilities.
- Experience supervising staff, particularly informal educators, or serving in leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in creating innovative educational curriculum or programming in a museum across natural and social sciences.
- Interest, ability, and experience collecting and analyzing data.
- Organized, effective, and able to manage multiple tasks and solve problems.
- Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Passion for STEAM and history education.
- Knowledge of working and teaching in museums and informal education.
- Effective, supportive manager who communicates honestly and clearly.
Special Requirements /Additional Information
- Must be able to work some weekends and evenings as needed, planned in advance.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and meet all Montana State University vehicle requirements (if out‑of‑state license, must obtain a Montana license within 60 days of hire).
