Position Details

Gallatin College seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. The department or program search committees or hiring authority will review and evaluate the submitted application materials. Applicants will be notified if their application is being retained in the non-tenure track faculty hiring pool. Gallatin College seeks course instructors (course instructors will be responsible for identifying and securing co-instructors) to teach in the following areas:
Driving and Patrol Functions, Firearms, Interview and Interrogation, Defensive Tactics, Law Enforcement Scenarios, Tactical Medicine, Crime Scene Investigation/Evidence Processing, Criminal, Juvenile, and Tribal Law, Ethics, Investigations, Other Law Enforcement Training Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand industry standards and best practices as well as college rules and regulations. Communicate well with all types of learners at different levels of expertise. Recognize safety hazards and unsafe operation of tools or equipment and be able to instruct students in proper use. Maintain and inventory any applicable equipment utilized in the classroom or lab settings;
Inventory consumables and prepare reorder lists for restocking. Maintain an organized and clean learning environment. Provide and/or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Be at least 21 years old. Two years of experience in training, teaching, or a related field. Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted. Have general knowledge of the theories and practices of law enforcement, public safety, and the criminal justice system. Have an understanding of theories and practices related to adult learning.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Prior teaching experience. Possess a bachelor's degree or associate degree from an accredited college/university. Subject Matter Expert in Topics of Instruction. Documented Experience with a Professional Law Enforcement Agency. Ability to pass a background investigation. Proficient in Spanish.
