General Statement
- Gallatin College seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. The department or program search committees or hiring authority will review and evaluate the submitted application materials. Duties and Responsibilities
- Gallatin College seeks course instructors to teach in the following specialty areas:
Carpentry:
Fundamentals of Const. Technology, Woodworking and Finish Carpentry, Carpentry Basics and Rough Framing, Site Prep, Foundations and Concrete Installation, Blueprint Codes and Estimating. Duties and
Responsibilities include:
Understand industry standards and best practices as well as college rules and regulations. Communicate well with all types of learners at different levels of expertise. Recognize safety hazards and unsafe operation of tools or equipment and be able to instruct students in proper use. Maintain and inventory any applicable equipment utilized in the classroom or lab settings;
Inventory consumables and prepare reorder lists for restocking. Maintain an organized and clean learning environment. Provide and/or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Three years of experience in related field AAS or similar degree in related field Have the ability to demonstrate construction trades technique(s) to students who may possess a variety of skill and talent Demonstrated experience working with and engaging various groups of learners within and outside of a department
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Five or more years of experience in the field that topic of instruction relates to Bachelor's degree in related field Industry standard professional certification(s) Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff enrichment Prior teaching experience Understanding of the two-year college mission
