Job Overview

We are accepting applications for a full‑time Early Childhood Teacher at Zoot Adventure Learning Academy (ZALA) in Bozeman, MT. The role is responsible for collaborating with the Early Childhood Lead Teacher to plan, create, and implement a play‑based program that meets children’s educational, developmental, cognitive, emotional, and social needs across infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms.

Schedule
  • 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Essential Job Functions
  • Assist in implementing the program in accordance with the center’s policy and philosophy.
  • Cater to the individual needs of each child, addressing interests, challenges, special talents, and learning styles.
  • Prepare the childcare environment, set up interest centers, and ensure needed materials and supplies are available.
  • Respond to children with dignity and respect.
  • Help children become aware of their roles as integral group members.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks.
  • Assist the Director as directed.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the center.
  • Attend all staff meetings, recommended training programs, and conferences.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all records concerning children, families, and staff.
  • Report any suspected abuse to supervisor immediately.
  • Arrange and maintain a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment per state regulations.
  • Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials.
  • Keep accurate attendance and time‑sheet records.
  • Meet and maintain all applicable licensing regulations.
  • Achieve a service‑focused culture emphasizing on‑time, high‑quality outcomes for internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma (Preferred).
  • Certifications:
    • Adult/Infant First Aid/AED/CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
    • Valid State of Montana Driver License with clean driving record.
    • Current Immunizations:
      • Tetanus (within the past 10 years).
      • MMR (measles/mumps/rubella).
  • Level 1 or higher on MT Practitioner Registry.
  • Previous childcare experience with children ages 6 weeks – 6 years old (preferred).
  • Excellent oral and written language skills to communicate with children and adults.
  • Ability to successfully pass state‑regulated background screening, including criminal record, Child & Adult Protective Services, FBI fingerprinting, motor vehicle records, and sign a health attestation.
  • Willing to complete 16 hours of annual approved training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move about inside a classroom, operate computers, interact with children, parents, staff, and visitors, and spend time outdoors.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, walk, stand, sit on the floor, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily in an office setting.
  • Travel required 1 % of the time.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
