Finance Instructors for the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)
Montana State University invites experienced finance professionals to the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship faculty as Instructors, delivering high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek dedicated professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and can collaborate effectively with faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will contribute to student success and academic excellence while supporting the mission of Montana State University through engaging, real-world finance education.
Instructional assignments are contingent upon departmental needs and the availability of funding.
Applications are accepted on a continual basis (unless otherwise indicated) and will be maintained in the pool for up to two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to resubmit their application materials for continued consideration. Application materials will be reviewed by the appropriate search committee or hiring authority, and applicants will be notified if they are being considered for an open position.
Non-tenure-track appointments may be part-time or full-time and vary in duration depending on the specific needs of the department or program. Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and the duration of the appointment.
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate finance courses in on-campus and/or online formats, ensuring high-quality, engaging instruction. Incorporate real-world applications and experiential learning to enhance student understanding of financial principles and practices. Stay current with industry trends, professional standards, and advancements in finance education to maintain course relevance. Foster a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
Master's degree in finance or a closely related field. PhD in finance or a closely related field. Ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in finance. Industry certification such as CFA, CFP, CMA, CVA, etc. Knowledge of current industry trends and practices in areas such as financial markets, commercial banking, insurance and risk management, real estate finance, personal finance, investments, corporate finance, and derivative securities.
Be committed to experiential learning, incorporating real-world applications, case studies, and industry partnerships into teaching. Be committed to supporting, mentoring, and inspiring students from all backgrounds. Be committed to utilizing effective pedagogy that involves students in the learning process. Have the ability to work well with faculty, staff, and students in a dynamic environment.
Documents required: A letter of application that includes (1) why you are interested in teaching in the finance option in the Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship, and (2) what classes/finance topics you are most qualified to teach. A copy of the graduate-level academic transcript (unofficial transcripts acceptable at the time of application; official transcripts required upon hire). A curriculum vitae or professional resume, and A list of the three current academic or professional references (please list in the Professional References section of the online application).
