The ideal candidate will contribute to student success and academic excellence while supporting the mission of Montana State University through engaging, real-world hospitality education. Instructional assignments are contingent upon departmental needs and the availability of funding.

Position Overview - The Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship offers a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. To accomplish our mission, our teaching faculty should have professional experience in hospitality management. We seek experienced professionals with the ability to teach in more than one hospitality management area, including hotel management and operations and restaurant management and operations.

General Statement - Montana State University invites experienced hospitality professionals to the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship faculty as Instructors, delivering high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek dedicated professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and can collaborate effectively with faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will contribute to student success and academic excellence while supporting the mission of Montana State University through engaging, real-world hospitality education.
Instructional assignments are contingent upon departmental needs and the availability of funding.
Duties and Responsibilities - Teach undergraduate and/or graduate hospitality courses in on-campus and/or online formats, ensuring high-quality, engaging instruction. Incorporate real-world applications and experiential learning to enhance student understanding of hospitality principles and practices. Stay current with industry trends, professional standards, and advancements in hospitality education to maintain course relevance. Foster a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
Required Qualifications Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Business Administration (MBA), Culinary Arts Management, or a closely related business field.
Preferred Qualifications Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Significant (5+ years) high-level management, ownership, or operational experience in the hospitality industry (e.g., hotel/lodging, restaurant/food service, or event management). Prior university-level teaching experience. Terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Hospitality Management or a closely related field.
