Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Student Success
The Vice President for Student Success at Montana State University is directly responsible to the President and interacts daily with all facets of the University, including students, staff, administrators, and faculty. The following departments are included in Student Success:
Advising Commons, Access and Success, Admissions, Dean of Students, Veterans Services, Financial Aid and Education, Career Services, Registrar, Student Engagement, ASMSU, Leadership Institute, Hilleman Scholars and Student Wellness. The Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Student Success offers essential administrative and professional support to the Vice President and oversees the administrative operations of the Vice President's Office. This role involves engaging with a diverse range of internal and external university stakeholders on matters that require the Vice President's attention or notification.
The position demands a high level of independent action and routinely involves handling confidential information. The Executive Assistant operates independently in close coordination with the Vice President and exercises sound judgment and discretion when advising others on university efforts assigned to Student Success. Additionally, the assistant provides administrative assistance to the Vice President, acts as a liaison to the strategic budget and human resources business partners, serves as an assessment specialist and accreditation liaison, manages special projects and events, and coordinates division projects and efforts.
Founded in 1893 as a Land Grant University, Montana State University (MSU) is composed of eight academic colleges and a graduate school and boasts a friendly, supportive faculty and campus environment. Currently, the University hosts an enrollment of over 17,000 students, including approximately 1,900 graduate students. MSU is classified as an R1 U.S. Research Universities (very high research activity) by the Carnegie Foundation.
MSU is located in Bozeman, Montana, an extended community of about 70,000 nestled in the Rocky Mountains in Southwest Montana. In addition to providing access to an extraordinary ecosystem for teaching and research programs, Bozeman is renowned for year-round recreational and cultural opportunities to include access to world class ski areas, multiple blue ribbon trout streams and the Gallatin National Forest.

Bozeman is located in the beautiful Gallatin Valley, 90 miles north of Yellowstone National Park.
Administrative:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the office of the Vice President for Student Success. Communicate Student Success priorities and assignments to the VPSSCabinet and direct reports. Provides follow up cabinet on VP initiatives. Act as the primary contact for the office of the Vice President with outside organizations, university offices, colleges, and departments. Maintain supportive relationships with University administration, Student Success departments, colleges and department offices, faculty, staff, students, and the community.
