The Early Childhood Classroom Support Specialist will provide on-site support to the ASMSU Early Learning Center and MSU Child Development Center under the direction of the Early Childhood Education Program Manager. The programs offer nurturing, supportive, and developmentally appropriate care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in playful, responsive, and inclusive learning environments.
Responsibilities- Provide daily site support to the ASMSU Early Learning Center and MSU Child Development Center, including classroom coverage for teacher absences.
- Maintain and update teacher and student aide schedules.
- Coordinate onboarding of new staff, including staff training.
- Maintain staff files for childcare licensing annual review and renewal.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Program Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development & Family Science, Child Development, or a related field.
- Early Childhood Lead Teacher certification through Montana Childcare Licensing.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as an early childhood (birth–age 5) teacher.
- Experience working with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschool.
- Experience using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers and other departments and staff across campus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated competence in organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments, meeting deadlines, and exercising adaptability to changing priorities while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with teachers, student employees, parents, and community partners.
