Description
We are looking for an early head start teacher to provide high-quality care and education to children and families. Our team is dedicated to supporting adults, children, and families as they become active and vital members of their community. Responsibilities
- Assist in guiding the implementation of a comprehensive child development program that meets Head Start curriculum standards for children 6 weeks to 3 years old.
- Practice theories and sound principles of child and parent education, fostering environments where children can develop personal relationships, experiment, make choices, solve problems, and acquire age‑appropriate social and self‑help skills.
- Plan and participate in parent education and parent‑involvement activities. Serve as a clinical coordinator in developing and implementing service and individual treatment plans.
Early head start teachers earn $21.76 – $24.68 per hour.
Requirements
Talents, skills, and abilities:
- HS Diploma/GED/HiSET required.
- Minimum CDA or willingness to obtain a CDA immediately upon hire and one year of experience in a licensed early childhood facility.
- AA/AS or BA/BS Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field preferred but not required. At least 60 hours of childcare training, experience with an evidence‑based infant/toddler curriculum, and knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start.
