Upper Elementary Teacher in Bozeman, MT, US
Join our amazing team on our 8 acre campus in beautiful Bozeman, Montana!
OverviewGeneral Duties:
The general duties of Head Teachers shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Participates in the preparation of a stimulating and culturally rich environment in a Montessori way.
- Maintains a classroom environment that is clean, safe, and nurturing for children.
- Follows the curriculum as outlined by the Head of School.
- Greets and interacts with all students, parents, and co-workers in a welcoming and positive manner.
- Assists with the physical care and well being of the children in the classroom and on the playground.
- Manages classroom activities and behavior.
- Interacts with children in a professional, positive, and safe manner.
- Ensures that the lessons and activities that are developmentally appropriate for the children enrolled.
- Ensures that the daily schedule is meeting the needs of the children enrolled and adjusts as needed.
- Communicates effectively with assistant teacher(s) to delegate tasks and duties.
- Leads circle time daily with the children or invites another teacher to lead it.
- Reports daily attendance to the office via Whats App or ensures that another teacher communicates it.
- Writes a newsletter piece monthly following the parameters set by the Head of School.
- Communicates effectively with the Head of School regarding the needs of the classroom and students.
- Upholds the confidentiality agreement at all times.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Head of School.
- Montessori certification for Upper Elementary (or strong desire to complete a training course)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience relating to childhood development and teaching.
- A commitment to upholding Montessori philosophy and practices.
- Ability to communicate warmly and effectively with children, families and colleagues in a timely manner.
- Dependable and able to consistently work scheduled shifts.
- Strong organizational skills.
