Academic Advisor II

Montana State University is hiring an Academic Advisor II. This role involves collaborating with the MSSE program's leadership, advising and mentoring graduate students, coordinating with faculty and university departments, and supporting recruitment and administrative tasks to foster student success in the Master of Science in Science Education program.

• Advise and mentor MSSE graduate students on academic programs, course selection, and degree completion.
• Collaborate with MSSE Director, faculty, and MSU offices to support the program.
• Serve on the MSSE and Graduate Certificate Admissions Committee.
• Coordinate communication regarding important dates, events, and procedures for students and faculty.
• Assist with recruitment efforts at regional and national meetings and develop advertising materials.
• Experience with higher education curricula, degree requirements, and student support resources.
• Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree and familiarity with enrollment and degree auditing software like Degree Works, Cat Course, Banner, and MyInfo.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills required.
• Salary ranges from $20.49 to $24.55 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
