SUMMARY

The Security Site Superintendent is responsible for on-site leadership and execution of security-focused projects from pre-construction through final commissioning and turnover. This role serves as the primary on-site authority for security system installation, coordination with general contractors and trades, quality control, and schedule adherence. The Site Superintendent ensures that security systems are installed correctly, safely, and in accordance with project documents, manufacturer standards, code requirements, and SAV best practices—while protecting profitability, timelines, and client trust.

ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS Project & Site Leadership
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all security-related scopes, including intrusion, surveillance, access control, and related low-voltage systems
  • Maintain proactive communication between Security Project Managers, technicians, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades
  • Execute the project plan as defined by the Security Project Manager while adapting to real-time site conditions
  • Represent SAV professionally on job sites, reinforcing confidence, competence, and accountability
Schedule & Coordination
  • Manage daily site activities to maintain security project timelines and milestone commitments
  • Coordinate sequencing with other trades to avoid conflicts, rework, or delays
  • Participate in site meetings, walks, and inspections related to security scope
  • Identify risks to schedule or scope early and escalate appropriately
Quality Control & Standards
  • Ensure installations meet SAV standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes
  • Conduct ongoing site inspections during rough-in, trim, and final phases
  • Verify device placement, infrastructure readiness, labeling, and documentation accuracy
  • Support final system commissioning, testing, and handoff readiness
Field Execution & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate site notes, task lists, and progress updates inside SAV task management software
  • Track and communicate field changes, RFIs, scope clarifications, and jobsite challenges
  • Review, verify, and approve technician time entries related to security projects, ensuring accuracy, proper job coding, and alignment with approved scope and schedules
  • Identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, or trends in labor reporting and communicate findings to the Security Division Manager or Project Management team
  • Provide field-level input to improve installation standards, SOPs, and training
Leadership & Decision Making
  • Function independently on site with authority to make informed decisions aligned with project goals
  • Support and guide security technicians in best practices, safety, and professionalism
  • Model calm, decisive leadership under pressure or changing conditions
  • Participate in the Security Department on-call rotation as assigned, providing escalation support and field-level decision-making when needed
  • Monitor on-call activity to identify recurring issues, training gaps, or system trends, and communicate findings to the Security Division Manager and Service team
