Bridge Project Manager
HDR’s Transportation Business Group is looking for a Bridge Project Manager to plan and manage small to medium single‑discipline engineering projects or large routine projects. You will coordinate engineering teams, develop client relationships, ensure projects meet schedule and budget, and perform complex structural planning and design for transportation projects.
Responsibilities- Plan and manage all aspects of selected projects.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
- Coordinate engineering work and balance the planning team throughout project development.
- Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to meet agreed‑to schedule and budget.
- Collaborate with peers and team members to create a cohesive practice.
- Perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects, ensuring completion of documents on schedule.
- Work on bridge projects including steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, segmental, cable‑stayed, box culvert, and interchange design.
- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures and develop structural details using specialized software.
- Review, assign, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications from junior engineers and EITs.
- Mentor younger staff and support their continued development.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
- PMP certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Micro Station, AutoCAD, MathCAD, and LARSA.
- Experience mentoring junior staff.
- Proficiency with seismic design and detailing of bridges.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 7 years related experience, including a minimum of 2 years in project management.
- Professional Engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
- MS Office and MS Project experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.

Expected compensation for this position ranges from $110,656 to $158,080, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographic location (Montana).
