Location: Bozeman, MT (Relocation assistance provided)
Salary: $70,000–$85,000 (DOE) base pay with wage growth and annual bonuses. Ownership through ESOP, 90% company‑paid health plan, paid time off, parental leave, volunteer time off, holidays, 401(k) matching, AD&D insurance, disability, life insurance paid by the company.
In this role you will apply mechanical engineering concepts to building systems, interpreting architectural design plans and designing heating, cooling, and plumbing systems to integrate and support the project design.
Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting the architectural design plans and researching appropriate HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Designing the heating, cooling, and plumbing systems to integrate and support the architectural building plan.
- Applying thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and structural analysis principles within design work.
- Understanding interdisciplinary impacts of the mechanical engineering piece on project design.
- Using engineering design software to draft plans, drawings, and models.
- Incorporating appropriate equipment to support the building’s HVAC and plumbing needs.
- Finding creative solutions for engineering projects in challenging spaces.
- Partnering with the operations manager to develop new client business and win new project work.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- 0–3+ years’ mechanical engineering experience with HVAC & plumbing design in various building applications.
- Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) professional licensure required.
- Concept knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record for periodic travel.
