Defense Tech Solutions Engineer — Prototyping & Systems Design

Montana State University is hiring a Mil Tech Solutions Engineer I. This role involves collaborating with Mil Tech Solutions Engineers, Project Engineers, and industry partners to develop technology solutions addressing Department of Defense (DOD) client technology gaps, supporting product development, testing prototypes, and assisting in project execution and design reviews.

• Experience with 3D CAD software, rapid prototyping, electrical design CAD, and manufacturing processes required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent education/experience required.
• Preferred experience includes ruggedized mechanical system design, materials selection, and working with ITAR-regulated deliverables.
• Position requires compliance with U.S. export control laws and successful background checks.
• Salary starts at $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
