Principal Flute

The Bozeman Symphony is seeking a Principal Flute through an audition process. The symphony's concert season includes seven classical subscription concerts, two special performances aimed at new audiences, collaborations with the Montana Ballet Company, and various smaller ensemble programs. Members are encouraged to engage in educational and community outreach performances across Montana. Each concert cycle typically involves 4-6 rehearsals starting on Tuesdays, followed by 2-3 performances from Friday to Sunday, totaling around 85-90 services per season.

Rehearsals are usually held in the evenings at the Willson Auditorium in Bozeman.

Compensation for the Principal Flute position is set at $105 per service for the  season, with additional mileage reimbursement for Montana residents and travel reimbursement for out-of-state musicians. Accommodations during concert weeks can be arranged upon request. The audition will be conducted at Reynolds Recital Hall on the Montana State University campus and will consist of 2-3 rounds, depending on the committee's decision.

A warm-up space will be provided for candidates.
