The Teller is a critical front‑line role that requires excellent customer service skills, accurate mathematics, and a professional appearance. Tellers are the first point of contact for customers, fostering positive relationships and handling a range of retail transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. The position involves learning new technology systems to maintain efficiency and accuracy.

• Represent American Bank to customers in a courteous, professional manner.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in processing transactions.
• Answer phone calls promptly, delivering exceptional customer service and resolving inquiries.
• Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, examine endorsements, and enter transactions into an online teller terminal.
• Cash checks and pay money from accounts upon verification of signatures and balances, inspecting negotiability.
• Accept loan payments, ensuring amounts match due balances and collecting late charges if applicable.
• Sell bank products for fee income, including:
  • Money Orders
  • Statement Copies
  • Cashier Checks
  • Photocopies
  • Stop Payments
  • Gift Cards
• Redeem cash items for deposit or cash, such as Savings Bonds.
• Promote bank services and cross‑sell bank products.
• Provide information to customers about accounts and products after proper verification.
• Balance cash and negotiable items.
• Complete all required compliance bank training and adhere to applicable regulations.

• Combination and/or key control.
• Open and process night depository, ATM and/or cash dispenser items.
• Control negotiable instruments.
• Perform internal audit of cash and negotiable instruments.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.

• Professional image and prompt, friendly service to all customers.
• Open, close, and maintain all deposit account products.
• Balance cash within the designated guidelines.
• Proficient operation of the telephone system, bank computer system, Microsoft Word, Excel, Jack Henry, E‑Mail, calculator, and photocopier.
• Interpersonal skills to represent American Bank positively.

• Stand for long periods while providing customer service; sit and walk; lift and carry up to 30 lbs. waist high and 20 lbs. shoulder high.
• Indoor, clean environment with normal noise levels.
• Must work under pressure.
• Risk of robbery; detailed procedures provided to minimize hazards.

• Primary work assignment is the Bozeman East branch. Employees may be requested to travel to other locations using personal vehicles. If required to spend an entire day at a non‑primary location, travel time will be compensated. Mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate applies.
