* Position Summary:

** The Acute Care Sonographer I provides ultrasound (US) health care services to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs US procedures and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.  Primarily works independently in a highly complex, acute care inpatient setting.

* Minimum Qualifications:

**** Required
* ** American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in OB/GYN or abdominal/small parts or is registry eligible and obtains certification within one year of date of hire
* Graduate from an accredited ultrasound school
* American Heart Association BLS within 60 days of hire
** Preferred
* ** One (1) year of post-graduation experience working in ultrasound

* Essential Job Functions:

** In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.
* Perform US exams and procedures in an inpatient setting.
* Assist the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
* Complete documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
* Perform ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
* Retrieve and review previous studies, reports, written orders, and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of US exams and procedures.
* Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of the organization's quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.
