CT Technologist Position Summary
The Acute Care Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist delivers healthcare services by aiding in diagnosis and treatment. This role is responsible for performing CT procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. Operating a CT scanner, the technologist obtains images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies while utilizing knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to generate high-quality images for radiologists and other medical professionals.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited Radiology program or equivalent.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T.(R) & advanced registry in CT, R.T.(CT).
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Two (2) years of radiology experience as a registered technologist.
- One year of previous CT experience in a trauma center (level I or II).
- Perform CT exams and procedures for various hospital departments as requested by medical staff.
- Assist radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
- Handle ancillary duties related to the distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
- Document all necessary information for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
- Retrieve and manage written orders and related health information to ensure timely execution of exams.
- Engage in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of quality indicators as per organizational strategies.
- Work independently in a complex, acute care inpatient setting.
- Train and support peers.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
- Exhibits tact, discretion, and sensitivity, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Effectively performs job functions in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
- Capable of learning current and new computer applications and office equipment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and participate in call rotation as necessary.
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling:
Ability to support and lift up to 50 pounds, including assisting patients and transferring equipment. - Extended
