Computer Support Specialist III

Montana State University is hiring a Computer Support Specialist III. This role delivers IT support across various channels for MSU’s RED Core Facilities, resolving incidents, providing deskside support, and building strong customer partnerships through proactive engagement and excellent service.

• Provide IT support via phone, ticketing systems, chat, walk-ins, and field visits focused on RED Core Facilities.
• Troubleshoot and support Windows, macOS, Linux endpoints, mobile devices, software, and research instrumentation.
• Handle endpoint imaging, configuration, deployments, and research data workflows.
• Assist with identity and access management, including password resets and MFA guidance, following university policies.
• Collaborate with system administrators and coordinate solutions to enhance Core Facilities' IT stability and security.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge base articles aligned with KCS practices.
• Promote and adhere to IT security best practices and vulnerability remediation procedures.
• Required qualifications include experience supporting multi-platform endpoints and customer service excellence in a higher education or similar IT environment.
• Preferred skills include familiarity with enterprise endpoint management tools and specialized research instrumentation.
• Salary ranges from $26.38 to $32.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
