Computer Support Specialist II

Montana State University is hiring a Computer Support Specialist II. This role supports the College of Agriculture and Montana Agricultural Experiment Station by promoting and facilitating IT services, providing technical support for diverse programs statewide, and collaborating directly with faculty, staff, researchers, and students to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues.

• Provide technical support for Windows and macOS systems, peripherals, mobile devices, and software applications.
• Support faculty and staff across the College of Agriculture and Montana Agricultural Experiment Station statewide.
• Manage endpoint security, hardware, and software using centrally provided tools and adhere to UIT policies.
• Create self-help documentation and standard operating procedures to improve user experiences.
• Travel to off-campus research centers for onsite equipment installation and troubleshooting.
• Use tools such as Intune, JAMF, MCM, and Active Directory for device management.
• Maintain compliance with university purchasing policies and promote IT security best practices.
• Required qualifications include two years of relevant experience or education, knowledge of help desk practices, and IT security principles.
• Salary range is $23.00 to $24.50 per hour, commensurate with experience, eligible for benefits.
• Position requires a valid driver s license and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to various campus and statewide locations.
