Tier 1 Security Operations Center Analyst

The Tier 1 (T1) Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst position is a true entry level role with no prior cybersecurity experience required. We will train you on our systems and processes so that you can effectively accomplish the following four primary job responsibilities:

• 24×7 Monitoring:
  Continuously observe security events from customer networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud workloads via centralized tools. This enables the detection of anomalies or signs of attack in real-time.
• Analysis & Triage:
  Investigate alerts and logs to determine validity and severity. Distinguish false positives from true incidents by leveraging SIEM/SOAR platforms.
• Documentation:
  Record analysis steps, findings, and decisions in our ticketing system. Maintain clear incident logs and timelines for each event.
• Escalation:
  Follow defined procedures to elevate confirmed or high-risk incidents to incident responders or client contacts.

This is an in-person position, so only candidates who live in or close to Bozeman, MT will be considered.

Experience

While not required, experience in the following areas would make your training easier:

• Computer Science
• Networking
• SIEM and SOAR platforms
• Customer Service/Support

Schedule

• Hoplite's SOC operates 24/7, 365 days a year, so working overnights and holidays is sometimes required
• The three possible shifts to work are 7 am - 3 pm, 3 pm - 11 pm, or 11 pm - 7 am.

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen
• Must be able to pass a Federal background check
• Must live in or close to Bozeman, MT
• Possess a strong desire to learn
• Ability to communicate clearly in high stress situations
• Ability to professionally interact with customers through written tickets and phone calls
• Ability to work weekends, overnights, and holidays if necessary
