OBP has an immediate, full-time position in a fast-paced, in-office environment overseeing the company trip operations. Relocation to Bozeman, Montana is required with in-office presence, Monday – Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Position Summary:The Director of Trip Operations fulfills a critical senior leadership role, responsible for the end-to-end performance development and maintenance, planning, coordination, and execution among the Trip Operations team. Providing for the foundation of experience delivery at the company, this role is vital to ensuring seamless logistics, high-quality guest experiences, and exceptional guide and provider performance for OBP guests while traveling. The role also is chiefly responsible for trip operations risk management, efficiency, safety, and profitability.
IdealRequirements:
- Proven senior management experience in tour operations, travel logistics, or destination management.
- Strong leadership, supplier negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep knowledge of and proven experience in the travel industry, generally, inclusive of proficiency in regulation, best practices, risk management, process development, and safety protocols in multiple destinations around the world.
- Data-driven mindset with experience using operational systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Goal-oriented in delivering seamless, high-quality travel experiences while protecting the company’s reputation and financial performance.
- Strategic orientation with the ability to develop a road map for long-term, sustained, aggressive growth within Trip Operations.
- Proficiency with CRM technology (Salesforce), AI-assisted solution applications, PC environment (MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- In-Office leadership presence on a standard full-time schedule.
Strategic Leadership & Oversight
- Own operational strategy and execution for all trips/tours through management of Group and Custom Reservations & Logistics teams, aligning day-to-day activities with company growth, service quality, financial targets, and brand standards.
- Develop and maintain multi-year tour calendars for Group Travel Services, inclusive of capacity planning, forecasting, and sequencing of departures to maximize operational efficiency, inventory utilization, and financial performance.
- Manage all purchasing operations for the company among trip-related reservations and arrangements, including vendor relationships, contract management, and expense oversight, control, and execution (a critical component of yield management).
