SummaryThis position is located at Acela, Inc production facilities in Bozeman, Montana. Acela's primary business is the manufacturing and refitment of various vehicles and trailers. Acela is a very fast-paced and forward-leaning, process-driven company that embraces clear communication and lean manufacturing principals, including the ability for each and every employee to contribute to his/her own successes and improvement in workflow, process, and their own work environment.
The position of Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring Acela Inc. efficiently sources raw materials, develops strong vendor relationships, and helps production get the resources they need when and where they are needed.
- Following procedures, identifies what needs to be purchased, gets quotes, issues purchase orders, confirms purchases, manages delivery follow up and verifies delivery quantity and quality.
- Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies in known locations in the company, and in multiple facilities.
- Maintains appropriate quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production and inventory levels.
- Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
- Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies.
- Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.

- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelors degree in Business or related field required;
Masters degree preferred. - Experience in Fishbowl and/or Epicor Kinetics inventory/manufacturing software a plus.
- You have demonstrated values including ethical behavior, accountability & teamwork.
- Experience using ERP/MRP Software.
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Demonstrated 5+ Years of manufacturing purchasing experience preferred.
- Frequently lifts-up to 50 lbs.
- Data entry at computer with frequent walking throughout facility.
