LASER MANUFACTURING ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

To support our expanding operations, we are currently seeking candidates for our Bozeman, Montana site.
JOB SUMMARYThe Electrical Technician performs a variety of operations to assemble precise electro‑mechanical assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. These assemblies are used in the manufacturing of laser systems for scientific, military, industrial and medical applications.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo supervisory duties for this position.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Reads and interprets drawings, schematics, engineering change orders and applicable documents. Interprets and follows assembly procedures, assembly aids, non‑conformance reports and repair travelers.
- Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble and rework a variety of assemblies and perform required assembly/rework operations to meet quality standards. Uses measurement tools such as calipers, micrometer, ruler, scales, and torque wrenches.
- Populates circuit boards using both SMT and through hole soldering methods. Solder connections for cables and harnesses. Hand soldering is compliant with IPC standards.
- Proficient in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, pulse generators, cable eye testing and ground bond hi‑pot testing.
- Uses a variety of crimpers to build cables and harnesses.
- Reliable attendance and some flexibility is required to support the production team.
- Supports system integration team with troubleshooting and repairs.
- Supports lean manufacturing efforts through continuous process improvement. Ensures accuracy of BOMs and work instructions, writing inputs to make corrections when necessary.
- Required to track time and correctly charge time to programs (work orders).
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Works in a safe manner per Lumibird Photonics USA Safety policies.
- May be required to perform additional duties/responsibilities.
- Quality conscious and extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to handle small parts and pieces used for various assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
- Soldering experience is beneficial.
- Experience building cables and harnesses is beneficial.
- Good vision for handling small electronic components.
- Use fingers to manipulate small parts.
- Use hands to seize, hold and grasp objects.
- Able to reach with hands and arms.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
