Job Description & How to Apply Below

Quantum Coax is a growing startup building the physical infrastructure for the future of computing. We design and build high-performance, coaxial cable assemblies critical to next-generation quantum computing systems. We are a collaborative, supportive team that values craft, precision, and curiosity. Whether you’re an experienced technician or a skilled builder with an eye for detail, we welcome people who love working with their hands to help us build the future.

Job Summary

We are looking for an Assembly Technician to help build, inspect, and refine complex coaxial assemblies for quantum environments. Working side-by-side with our engineering team, you will build specialized high-frequency cable assemblies, run signal quality tests, and help us refine our building processes as we grow.

If you take pride in detail-oriented hands‑on work and enjoy learning new technical skills, we’d love to talk to you!

What You’ll Do
  • Precision Assembly: Build flexible and semi‑rigid coaxial cables using technical drawings, schematics, and component lists.
  • Hands‑On Craft: Perform fine soldering, crimping, wire stripping, and micro‑connector installations under magnification.
  • Quality & Testing: Run signal and quality checks using precision tools and testing equipment (we will train you on our specific testing setups!).
  • Problem‑Solving: Help spot assembly or signal issues and work with the team to fix them.
  • Collaborate & Improve: Partner with engineers on prototype builds, offer feedback to streamline assembly steps, and help write simple build guides (SOPs).
  • Clean & Organized Workspace: Follow cleanroom/ESD practices and keep track of component lots and testing records.
What We’re Looking For
  • Hands‑On

    Experience:

2+ years of experience in electronics assembly, cable harness assembly, fine‑pitch soldering, or a similar detailed mechanical/technical background.
  • Fine Motor Skills & Patience: Great dexterity and comfort working with tiny components under micro‑magnification or a microscope.
  • Familiarity with Bench Tools: Comfortable using hand tools, wire strippers, multi‑meters, or basic soldering irons.
  • An Eager Learner’s Mindset: Strong attention to detail, good communication, and excitement about working in a dynamic startup environment.
Nice‑to‑Haves (Not Required—We Can Train!):
  • Prior experience with RF testing equipment (VNAs, TDRs, or Oscilloscopes).
  • Familiarity with cleanroom environments or ESD protocols.
  • Current or past IPC certifications (IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, or J‑STD‑001).
Why Join Us?
  • Competitive Pay: $25.00 – $35.00/hr (depending on experience) plus a comprehensive benefits package (details shared during the interview).
  • Growth & Learning: On‑the‑job training with high‑frequency RF equipment and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Real Impact: A chance to play a direct role in building hardware for the emerging quantum computing industry.
