Montana Conservation Corps (MCC) offers a conservation internship program aimed at inspiring young people through hands‑on service. Founded in 1991, MCC is a private, nonprofit organization that provides leadership development, community service projects, and environmental stewardship opportunities across Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and South Dakota.
Member DutiesConservation Interns serve at partnering federal/state agencies, nonprofits, tribal offices, and community‑based conservation organizations. They work on projects that include:
- Habitat restoration
- Rangeland science
- Soil monitoring
- Invasive species treatment
- Recreation management
- GIS mapping
- Stream and wetland restoration
- Cave and karst feature surveys
- Conservation education and outreach
- Volunteer management
- Education award upon successful completion of service
