Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant to serve in the clinic float pool at our Baxter Clinic in Baxter, Minnesota, supporting family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics. This LPN or CMA works 8‑hour day shifts, 7:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Schedule is 32 hours weekly but may be flexed up to 40 hours without notice based on facility needs.

No weekend, holiday, or on‑call rotations are required. A $2,500 sign‑on incentive is available for this position.

Education

Qualifications:

Education as required for licensure.

• Assist RN, Physician and other providers and provide direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting.
• Perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
• Care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age‑related category.
• Perform routine assessments such as measuring vital signs, recording patient histories, and observing symptoms.
• Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control.
• Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans and assist in coordinating follow‑up appointments and referrals.
• Conduct initial patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories, updating personal information, and preparing patients for examination or diagnostic testing.

• LPN: current LPN licensure in the state of Minnesota upon hire.
• CMA: current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire; must pass certification within two attempts.
• Both: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3months of hire.
