PositionLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in a pediatric practice at Essentia Health.
Job SummaryThe LPN/CMA will work an average of 30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. Shift: 7:30a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday. A $2,500 sign‑on incentive is available.
Key Responsibilities- Assist RNs, physicians, and other providers with direct patient care in an ambulatory setting.
- Perform procedural tasks for which competency has been demonstrated.
- Provide care to patients ranging from newborn to elderly.
- Perform routine assessments: measure vital signs, record patient histories, and observe symptoms.
- Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring proper infection control.
- Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans and coordinate follow‑up appointments and referrals.
- Conduct initial patient intake: gather medical histories, update personal information, and prepare patients for examination or diagnostic testing.
- LPN: current Minnesota LPN licensure upon hire.
- CMA: current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant, or verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program with certification required within one year of hire.
- Both positions: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
- FTE: 0.75
- Schedule flexibility: shift rotation, no weekend or holiday work.
