LPN or Medical Assistant - Flex - Baxter Pediatric Clinic

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in a pediatric practice at Essentia Health.

The LPN/CMA will work an average of 30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. Shift: 7:30a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday. A $2,500 sign‑on incentive is available.

• Assist RNs, physicians, and other providers with direct patient care in an ambulatory setting.
• Perform procedural tasks for which competency has been demonstrated.
• Provide care to patients ranging from newborn to elderly.
• Perform routine assessments: measure vital signs, record patient histories, and observe symptoms.
• Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring proper infection control.
• Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans and coordinate follow‑up appointments and referrals.
• Conduct initial patient intake: gather medical histories, update personal information, and prepare patients for examination or diagnostic testing.

• LPN: current Minnesota LPN licensure upon hire.
• CMA: current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant, or verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program with certification required within one year of hire.
• Both positions: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
• FTE: 0.75
• Schedule flexibility: shift rotation, no weekend or holiday work.
