American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a full-time, variable shift travel position requiring active MT or compact RN licensure and prior labor and delivery experience.

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Full-time position at 0.9 FTE
• Variable shift schedule
• 3 mandatory on-call shifts required during the 13-week assignment
• Must be willing to circulate
• Must be willing to float to Mother Baby unit and take couplet assignments
• Must be willing to float to other units as a safety companion
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances

• Active Montana RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• NRP certification required, with recertification every 2 years
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification (C-EFM or equivalent AWHONN-approved course) required, with recertification every 2 years
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• One year of labor and delivery experience preferred
• Competence and willingness to practice modified primary nursing required
• Completion of 2 hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education required
• If serving as a Lactation RN, certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC or IBCLC) required in lieu of EFM and ACLS certifications

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, and implementation of individualized patient care
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to promote health and safety
• Employ evidence-based practice and maintain current nursing competencies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining sound judgment and professionalism
• Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and after-hours as needed
• On-call responsibilities required to meet patient and organizational needs
• Physical demands include repeated lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending, twisting, and reaching
• Exposure to blood borne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, and infectious diseases as part of routine duties
• Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
