Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive maternal and neonatal care, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and infants throughout the birthing process. The role involves acting as a Charge Nurse, transitioning patients, and floating to other departments as needed to support hospital operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ needs and implement individualized care plans for labor, delivery, and postpartum patients.
- Act as a Charge Nurse, providing leadership and oversight to nursing staff during shifts.
- Transition patients effectively, ensuring seamless care continuity during shift changes.
- Float to other departments as a safety companion, supporting cross-departmental needs.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and execute patient education and discharge planning.
- Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active Montana Registered Nurse licensure.
- Possess current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Be STABLE and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified, with recertification every 2 years.
- Demonstrate experience in Labor & Delivery, including antepartum, intrapartum, pre-op, circulating, and PACU.
- Show competency in acute maternal and neonatal care, with the ability to manage complex situations.
- Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
