Research Development Specialist

Montana State University is hiring a Research Development Specialist. The specialist will manage project efforts related to research proposals, assist with proposal development and budgets, identify funding opportunities, coordinate campus communications, and organize events to support and expand research activities.

• Manage proposal efforts including timelines, team meetings, and submission coordination.
• Assist with proposal budgets, records, documents, and provide strategic feedback.
• Identify and disseminate funding opportunities aligned with university strengths.
• Coordinate campus communications and compile monthly award announcements.
• Co‑organize research events including Research Development Day.
• Coordinate internal competitions for grants and limited submission opportunities.
• Maintain templates, coordinate external reviews, monitor proposal metrics, and support special projects.
• Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office, exceptional communication, and organizational abilities.
• Preferred qualifications include event planning, communications experience, research background, and familiarity with funding sponsors.
• Salary starts at $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
