Professional. FTE: 1.0. Salary: commensurate with experience. This position will assist Dr. Timothy Del Curto with the management of the USDA ARS Precision Livestock Initiative, working with graduate students and research associates to complete research objectives.
- Assist with graduate student projects, including data collection, analysis and publication, and guest lecture in Animal Science courses.
- Work independently on animal research projects.
- Master's Degree in Animal Science or related field.
- Experience working with ruminant livestock.
- Experience with ruminant nutrition laboratory methods.
- Experience with data management and analysis.
- Experience with manuscript preparation.
- Solid background with forage nutrition as it relates to beef production.
- Proven track record in oral and written communication.
- Willingness to assist other graduate students with research projects, including laboratory work, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
- Understanding and experience in low-stress livestock management.
The successful candidate will have a solid background in ruminant nutrition research and beef production systems, with abilities in forage chemistry training, sample processing, and conducting animal performance and nutrition research projects.
