Brief Position Overview

Through a federal/state partnership with the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES) and Extension Service, we strive for excellence in academics, research, and engagement.

• Make solutions and perform shared lab duties such as:
  • Autoclaving
  • Cleaning
  • Waste removal
• Read scientific literature and participate in lab group meetings.
• Collaborate with a part‑time undergraduate on a shared project.
• Design and interpret experiments studying the development and regeneration of Drosophila intestine.
• Perform molecular biology and confocal microscopy assays.
• Take careful notes, record results, and prepare figures for publication.

• Bachelor’s degree in biology.
• Prior experience in confocal microscopy.
• Prior experience in making solutions and performing standard molecular biology techniques.
• At least 1 year of experience doing full‑time lab work.
• Must be able to independently plan daily tasks.

• Experience with Drosophila husbandry and genetic crosses.
• Interest or experience working on developmental biology.
• Familiar with intestine anatomy, development, and regeneration.

Salary commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
