Lawn & Garden Department Floor Supervisor

At least 1 day a week, the Floor Supervisor will open the store at 7:30am, close the store at 8pm, and work 1 weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)

Owenhouse Ace Hardware is looking for a Lawn & Garden Department Floor Supervisor to take ownership of one of the most important and dynamic departments in our store.

This isn't just a job where you stock shelves and answer questions. You'll become the go-to person for Lawn & Garden, helping customers solve outdoor projects, building a knowledgeable team, working with vendors, and making the department a destination for homeowners, gardeners, DIYers, and outdoor enthusiasts

The Floor Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to ensure the store is providing exceptional customer service at all times. Floor Supervisors are responsible for leading associates involved with activities in the front and back end of our stores which include the sales floor, check-out areas, service counter, receiving, and backstock areas. Floor Supervisors will be expected to be a department head as well as having 1-2 additional significant responsibilities that will be assigned by the store manager.

• Dress appropriately and according to company policy.
• Represent the company well; internally and to the general public.
• Assure the Core Values are alive and well in all Owenhouse facilities through all forms of communication and daily interactions with employees, customers and vendors.

• Own the Lawn & Garden department. Keep it organized, stocked, faced, clean, seasonal, and visually exciting.
• Become the Lawn & Garden expert. Develop strong knowledge of lawn care, gardening, outdoor power equipment, irrigation, watering, hand tools, seasonal products, and the brands we carry.
• Coach and develop associates. Share product knowledge, help team members improve their selling skills, and lead by example.
• Drive store sales by ensuring that all customers are receiving the level of service that is expected from Owenhouse Ace Hardware: to amaze every customer, every time
• Performing and providing topics for daily huddles in-person & on Dexter
• Help forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand
• Ensuring employees are in the appropriate places and doing the appropriate tasks so that a high level of customer service is provided throughout the day. In order to achieve this, Floor Supervisors should be on the floor a majority of the day and routinely take walks around the entire floor to ensure we have sufficient staff in place to help customers.
• Floor Supervisors are expected to provide a high level of customer service, being sure to use the WOW process, and to help associates in providing excellence in customer service.
• Resolve customer complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
• Performing and providing topics for daily huddles.
• Maintain a department within the store. A Floor Supervisor's department should be a shining example of how we expect a department to be run at Owenhouse, from stock levels, facing, and merchandising to backstock.
