Montana State University is hiring a Research Data Engineer. This role involves developing and optimizing big data pipelines, designing data models, performing time series analysis, applying software engineering principles, and communicating technical insights to diverse teams within a high-impact research environment.
Highlights- Develop and optimize large-scale big data pipelines for storage, processing, and analysis.
- Design and implement efficient data models, including relational databases.
- Conduct time series analysis, including interpolation and aggregation of data streams.
- Apply object-oriented programming, networking concepts, and software design best practices.
- Utilize Linux command-line tools, Git Hub, and MAVEN for software development and deployment.
- Communicate technical results to multidisciplinary teams, including non-technical stakeholders.
- Master’s degree required in a STEM field;
PhD preferred. - Proven ability to work and deliver high-quality work independently without internet access.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret DOD Security Clearance and comply with U.S. export control laws.
- Salary of $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications; benefits eligible.
