Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Bradenton, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday

As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor obligations. You will work closely with the Accounts Payable Manager and Finance leadership to support the organization's day-to-day financial operations while maintaining compliance with internal policies and accounting procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Process vendor invoices from receipt through payment while ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Review, code, and enter invoices into the accounting system
- Monitor vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding issues
- Escalate payment concerns or unresolved vendor issues to the Accounts Payable Manager as needed
- Assist with month-end accounts payable closing activities
- Maintain accurate vendor records and payment documentation
- Communicate professionally with vendors regarding payment status and invoice questions
- Ensure compliance with organizational accounting policies and internal controls
- Support Finance leadership with reporting and other accounting functions as assigned
- Promote exceptional customer service while collaborating across departments
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required
- Associate degree in Accounting with two or more years of Accounts Payable experience or High School Diploma/GED with five or more years of Accounts Payable experience
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and invoice lifecycle management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred But Not Required
- Experience with Great Plains accounting software
- Healthcare industry experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience participating in month-end close processes
- Process improvement or workflow optimization experience
