Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support manufacturing operations through accurate inventory accounting, standard costing, financial analysis, and reporting. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to provide meaningful cost insights, maintain strong financial controls, and improve inventory accuracy and reporting processes. The Cost Accountant plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial performance by driving cost visibility, enhancing operational decision-making, and ensuring the integrity of inventory and manufacturing accounting activities.
What you'll do
- Maintain accurate inventory valuation, cost accounting records, and inventory reconciliations.
- Analyze inventory transactions, investigate discrepancies, and support physical inventory and cycle count programs.
- Maintain and update standard costs, including annual and periodic standard cost roll activities.
- Prepare and analyze material, labor, purchase price, and manufacturing variances, providing actionable insights to management.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process through financial analysis, modeling, and performance tracking.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls related to inventory, costing, and financial reporting while supporting SOX compliance and audit requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify cost reduction opportunities, process improvements, and inventory control enhancements.

Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and inventory accounting principles.
- Experience with variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, Net Suite, Epicor, or similar).
- Understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit support processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
