The successful candidate must have "OEM" automotive technical experience and be able to work on a variety of other makes and model vehicles. - Perform vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealership standards.
- Execute work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership standards.
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform parts department if vehicle is awaiting parts, and pursue special order of parts if necessary.
- Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by customer.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer.
- Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
- Notify service consultants immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
- Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order using the concern, cause and correction format.
- Ensure that customer vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
- Keep shop area neat and be able to account for all dealership‑owned tools at all times.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Values in all interactions with customers, co‑workers and vendors.
- Must have own mechanical tools.
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Automotive dealership experience (2+ year required).
- Vehicle Inspection Experience for UCI, PDI & MPI’s a must.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- ASE/OEM or Trade certification(s) (strongly suggested).
- General mechanical skills (required).
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.
- Good judgment.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
