The Senior Estimator will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our business, bringing projects to fruition. This position will be responsible for collaborating on bid and proposal preparation, negotiating contracts with clients, and working closely with design teams, engineers, and general contractors to provide value engineering solutions across heavy civil, marine, and underwater disciplines. The Senior Estimator will also provide guidance and training to other estimating personnel in the company's estimating systems and procedures.

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- At least ten years of combined construction and estimating experience, including heavy civil/marine construction.
- HCSS Heavy Bid experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of standard marine and heavy civil construction practices.
- Experience estimating projects with values up to $50 million.
- Experience on Joint Venture pursuits is a plus.
- Experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) contract projects is a plus.
- Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD.
- Excellent technical writing and proposal preparation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently; strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while satisfying customer needs.
- Proactive issue identification and solution offering.
- Ability to meet required deadlines.
- Formulate and lead project estimates/proposals to ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness, collaborating with estimators and project managers.
- Develop project work plans, schedules, and submittals.
- Lead bid kick‑off and board review meetings.
- Perform material take‑offs, organize pre‑bid data, research past costs, and develop construction sequences.
- Coordinate and cultivate strong business relationships with vendors and sub‑contractors.
- Conduct site visits and investigations as needed.
- Produce pre‑bid construction schedules.
- Attend pre‑job meetings.
- Conduct constructability studies.
- Present estimate quantities, rationale, and schemes to management during bid reviews.
- Organize and conduct hand‑off of project to operations if awarded.
- Participate in weekly job progress meetings with operations, accounting, and field staff.
- Lead project hand‑off meetings with key operational staff.
- Identify project risks and potential contingencies.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope and estimate contents.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
- Collaborate with managers to determine win strategies for bids.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Work outdoors in various temperatures and conditions.
- Wear various PPE (respirators, fall protection, etc.).
- Travel required on land, water, and aircraft.
- Stand and sit for several hours at a time.
- Lift, climb, pull, push, and squat for various periods of time.

Salary Range- $150 K – $175 K, commensurate with experience.
