Harmony Allergy & Dermatology is a physician-owned specialty medical practice providing comprehensive dermatology and allergy/immunology care to pediatric and adult patients in the Bradenton community and surrounding areas.

Our practice combines medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, Mohs micrographic surgery, and allergy and immunology services in a patient-centered environment built around clinical excellence, compassionate care, and personalized medicine.

We are building our team from the ground up and are looking for individuals who want to play an important role in the growth and culture of a new physician-led practice.

Position Summary

Harmony Allergy & Dermatology is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and patient-focused Clinical Medical Assistant to support both our dermatology and allergy & immunology physicians.

This is a cross-trained position that combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with administrative and patient-support duties. The Clinical Medical Assistant will work closely with both physicians and will assist with patient visits, dermatologic procedures, Mohs surgery, allergy testing, immunotherapy, medication administration, patient communication, care coordination, and general clinical operations.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-moving specialty practice, enjoys learning, communicates well with patients and coworkers, and recognizes when a clinical issue requires physician involvement.

All clinical duties are performed under the direction, supervision, and responsibility of the treating physician and in accordance with applicable law, physician protocols, practice policies, and the employee's demonstrated training and competency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Dermatology
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medication lists, allergies, medical histories, and other relevant clinical information.
  • Prepare patients for comprehensive dermatologic examinations.
  • Assist physicians with skin biopsies, excisions, electrodesiccation and curettage (ED&C), cryotherapy, wound care, and other dermatologic procedures.
  • Assist with Mohs micrographic surgery and surgical repairs.
  • Prepare procedure and examination rooms, instruments, equipment, medications, and supplies.
  • Label and process specimens accurately and assist with pathology documentation and coordination.
  • Provide physician-directed post-procedure instructions, wound-care education, and follow-up information.
  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and process instruments according to established protocols.
  • Maintain appropriate dermatology medication, procedure, and supply inventory.
  • Assist with other dermatologic procedures and clinical responsibilities as directed by the physician.
Allergy & Immunology
  • Room and prepare pediatric and adult allergy/immunology patients for evaluation and treatment.
  • Obtain detailed allergy, medication, symptom, and relevant medical histories.
  • Prepare patients, equipment, medications, and supplies for allergy testing.
  • Assist with the placement and performance of allergy testing according to physician-established protocols.
  • Administer allergy immunotherapy injections as directed by the physician and consistent with established protocols and demonstrated competency.
  • Assist with preparation and mixing of allergen immunotherapy extracts according to physician-established protocols, training requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Monitor patients following allergy injections or other treatments and promptly report adverse symptoms or reactions to the physician.
  • Maintain complete and accurate allergy immunotherapy documentation.
  • Assist with physician-directed administration and monitoring of biologic medications when applicable.
  • Assist with other in-office allergy/immunology testing, procedures, and treatments.
  • Maintain proper storage of medications, biologics, allergy extracts, and related supplies.
  • Perform and document required medication and refrigerator temperature checks.
  • Maintain allergy/immunology medications, supplies, testing materials, and inventory.
  • Provide physician-directed patient education regarding allergy testing, medications, immunotherapy, and treatment plans.
Patient Support & Care Coordination
  • Receive patient telephone calls, gather appropriate information, and route or escale clinical concerns according to practice protocols.
