Who We Are
The Bradenton Dream Center is a faith‑based organization established to provide meaningful learning experiences and offer opportunities to enrich the lives of students and families in downtown Bradenton.
MissionWe provide an after‑school program that supports literacy, wellness, and spiritual growth in the students and families that we serve.
Position TitleProgram Specialist
Position StatusPaid (Hourly)
Work Schedule- 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM (20 hours per week)
- Monday – Friday, aligned with school calendar
Program Director
Position Requirements- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent working with children
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Previously volunteered at after school program / Bayside Kids or equivalent.
- Experience in working with children and knowledge of youth development.
- CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- Able to drive a BDC van/minibus as needed.
- Must pass pre‑employment background check.
- Experience and ability in creating interactive and educational activities.
- Strong organization, time management skills and ability to set priorities.
- Obtain strong work ethic, positive attitude, high level of energy and flexibility.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
- Must be comfortable performing multi‑faceted projects in conjunction with day‑to‑day activities.
- Create an experience that facilitates the mission and values of the Bradenton Dream Center.
- Provide leadership and support for daily volunteer teams.
- Establish rapport with students and provide mentoring, guidance, role modeling to members and overall direction for their leadership development, artistic skills, physical activity engagement and academic progress.
- Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of students, quality in programs and appearance of the program at all times.
- Submit regular lesson plans, attendance sheets and other administrative duties.
- Ensure a productive work environment by participating in Bradenton Dream Center staff meetings.
- Maintain close, daily contact with Bradenton Dream Center staff (professional and volunteer), students, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; collaborate; and advise/counsel.
- Mandatory cleaning, set up, and closing down of the program area on a daily basis.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit. Able to use computer and other office equipment.
- Able to facilitate outside activities.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
